We are under a free fall

My banker or one his flunky was persuading me to make an investment via FM,FM will focus Latin America,the fund has a 5 star rating from Morning star and the money will stay locked for 2 years at least and we all are wishing that stock market will show a turn around within six months.And I told him so.He cut me short by saying that I should atleast put 5Ks and see how it pans out.So do we have to live that long for his sake
